An anthropologist proposed a game to a group of African tribe kids:
He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told them that whoever got there first won the sweet fruits.
When he said "go",  they all took each others' hands and ran together, then sat and enjoyed the fruits together.
When he asked them why they had run together, as one could have had all the fruits for himself, they said:   "Ubuntu. How can one of us be happy if all the others are sad"  

UBUNTU in the Xhosa culture means: "I am because we are."

Un antropologo propose un gioco ad un gruppo di bambini africani:
mise un cesto pieno di frutta accanto a un albero e disse loro che il primo che vi arriva, vince i dolci frutti.
Quando disse ''partenza'', i bambini si presero tutti per mano e corsero verso il cesto, poi si sedettero e gustarono la frutta tutti insieme.
Quando l'antropologo chiese loro il perchè corsero tutti insieme, quando solo uno poteva avere tutto per sè, i bambini risposero:'' Ubuntu ... come può uno di noi essere felice se tutti gli altri sono tristi''?

UBUNTU nella cultura Xhosa vuol dire: ''IO SONO PERCHÈ NOI SIAMO''.
